What is Viejos Pistones? Our history. 20th anniversary

All of you who know me know what it is. Viejos Pistones, but what you still don't know is the reason for that name.
A few days ago, my brother-in-law Emilio, the creator of all my logos, designs, t-shirts, posters... an alarm went off for the creation of the first logo of Viejos Pistones. Neither more nor less than 20 years. I got cold...

I have always been a lover of classic motorcycles and everything old in general and, 20 years ago, when I worked in an automotive spare parts company and began to do my first “jobs” on my own in vehicle repairs, I It happened to “dream” of having my own workshop and dedicating myself to the restoration of classic motorcycles and vehicles in general. After thinking about the name several times, I decided that this workshop would one day be called Viejos Pistones. And who better than my brother-in-law Emilio from @emimartingrafic, a lifelong graphic designer to commission him a logo. No sooner said than done. Soon I already had a very cool logo with which I made some maintenance cards for the vehicles I repaired. At that time I did not have money, experience or guts to quit my job and live what I liked, so I dedicated myself to repairing cars and motorcycles for friends and acquaintances in my parents' parking space or directly in a quiet area nearby. from my neighborhood where I spent hours assembling and disassembling.
Farewell to classic vehicles
Over time I realized that restoring classic vehicles was a bad business and I preferred to leave that hobby to myself and dedicate myself more to the repair of current vehicles. Always in free time. After 4 years and as they say, thanks to a motorcycle accident I had at the spare parts company, I ended up in the hospital with Antonio, a great guy and better person who works at Racc and who got me a job interview. I work in your company. After 2 months, I was also working in the Racc with an assistance car "patrolling" the city of Barcelona. I loved the work and since it left me days off during the week, I continued doing work on the street until I finally managed to have my own place. My garage, my workshop, my ZEN place where the hours didn't pass. Located in an alley in Ripollet, Viejos Pistones begins to take shape.
New airs..
The years went by and I became more and more interested in enduro and adventure motorcycles and although my “business name” did not change, my activities within the premises did. I began to dedicate more time to myself and my motorcycles to prepare them for the races in which I participated at that time and almost without realizing it, I began to specialize in the world of adventure motorcycles. I have always had a restless mind and I loved to draw and design and since at that time I did not have enough money, I made all kinds of gadgets for my motorcycles, including some Has it ever happened to you that you get an idea in your head and you can't stop thinking about it until you do it?
Online store and trail event
Back in 2015, my mind only thought about 2 things, adding products to my newly created online store and organizing a trail event. Both tasks would not have been possible without the invaluable help of my friend Jordi de Peu a Terra (@peuaterra), a high school classmate and also a great fan of motors in general. Fate and social networks made us get together again after many years without knowing about each other. Jordi built the website for me and, together, we have prepared 2 events called 2D-TRAE (2 Days Trail Raiders Adventurers Spain) in 2015 and 2016 and then 1 Trail Trophy in 2017 together with other collaborators. Starting in 2016 and parallel to my “other” job, my online store was built and I began to incorporate more products into it. Starters, tools and luggage items. Since 2015, courses, events and web store have been consolidating and carving out a niche for themselves in the trail world. At some point probably in 2019, the logo of Viejos Pistones and the web, it changes again and is renamed Viejos Pistones Adventure Motorcycles. At that time I began not only to sell accessories from other manufacturers, but I also began to make my own accessories.
In the middle of 2020, my friend Jaume from @traildreamer put me in contact with Kytu, another restless guy with great ideas with whom we started to design new high-quality accessories. In a short time we already had a wide variety of accessories of our own manufacture for the main trail bikes on the market. This is how we created a new logo for this entire range of parts called VP Hard Parts.
VP Hard parts begins to gain a foothold in the national and international market. We also began to sell not only to the end customer but also to stores, workshops and dealers.
we start to grow
In 2021, the Ripollet venue is too small for me. Every time I need more space to store material and I have more and more orders to prepare special motorcycles; rally kits, motorcycles for long trips, etc...so I decided it was time to close the old premises and start looking for a new, larger location that would allow me to have workshop space for preparations, a warehouse for sales and a show room where I can show my clients the brands we represent as well as the trail and enduro accessories we manufacture.
Viejos Pistones Adventure Motorcycles has a new headquarters!!!
In June 2021, after much searching, I found the place of my dreams. What he had always wanted and never found. I finally have a new place with triple the surface area it had before, with 2 well-differentiated areas to be able to set up a workshop, store, warehouse and some more surprises!!! We have been building for several months and soon we will be able to announce the official opening of the new premises.
New goals, new dreams...
If there is one reason we have made a place for ourselves in the world of adventure motorcycles, it is basically because of 2 things, a completely personalized service with our clients and for offering a range of exclusive products as well as manufacturing our own products. Well, for 2022, our new goal is to also start working on any adventure vehicle. Thanks to the new space/workshop, we will be able to offer our clients preparations not only for motorcycles but for any type of overlander vehicle. Soon we will be able to offer you a whole range of accessories for 4×4 and camper. As we test them, if they convince us, we will upload them to the website and of course we will be able to install them in the new workshop. We started VP Overlander, the adventure vehicle division.
