Well, here is an audiovisual summary of the last trip I took 2 months ago with Juan.
The EICMA was being held, you know, the international motorbike show in Milan and it occurred to me to visit it but…on a motorbike!!
And since we were going, why make it easy and take the quickest way? Nooooo!!!
We are going to look for the best Alpine roads, the best curves, mountain passes and the most emblematic towns. And so a fairly express trip took shape since we only stayed for 5 days but it went a long way. We were able to try a new type of hosting, Couchsurfing, which, apart from loving it, we were able to meet a new friend, Laurence. She showed us her city, Montpellier, and put us up in her house. The next day, after doing a full-fledged wine tasting in a winery, we headed for the Alps and the landscape suddenly changed, autumnal scenes with trees with such varied leaf colors that they went from yellow and brown to intense reds, I was surprised by that colored tails in the middle of the mountain. The roads were incredible and although the incessant rain did not let us trace as we would have liked, the pace was not bad and we were advancing and ascending.
After two days and visits to idyllic villages, we reached the highest area where a road was closed to us and we had to take a huge detour to take an alternative that was also about to be closed due to the snow. We were able to cross the port and from there, the weather gradually changed for the better, as we had been driving in the rain for 3 days with very few respites.
We finally arrived in Milan and after
A good dinner and leaving Juan's motorcycle to have the rear wheel changed, we went the next morning to visit the EICMA.
I was very surprised at how big it was. 3 or 4 pavilions and many circuits outside of tests and exhibitions. All the brands were there and the atmosphere was exciting in the entrance queue.
We were able to visit everything although we focused more on accessories and spare parts companies and adventure bikes.
The 3 adventure bikes that surprised me the most was the presentation of the Honda true adventure. If it ends up looking like the prototype, it deserves my respect and admiration because it had a very Off look that I liked a lot.
Then I was very fascinated by an English brand called CGM that manufactures a perfectly prepared 450 adventure trail, with very good material in terms of the cycle part, BMW engine and aluminum chassis. What surprised me the most is that this bike weighs only 125kgs!!!!
The most real surprise.
The last bike that I loved and was waiting to see to prove it was true was the new Triumph. They have just taken a giant step in the manufacture of a 100% trail motorcycle by putting WP suspensions on it, also a supplier to Ktm. I am very sure that if you add cruise control and traction control to this improvement, and a modification in engine management that saves up to 17% more fuel, this is going to be a tough competitor for medium displacement trail bikes. .
Ktm launches the 1050 but without a 21″ wheel and BMW without any news on this type of motorcycle.
Also say that if we liked the bikes, we liked the girls who had ridden them the same or more and although there will always be someone who will find it wrong that girls are used to display the bikes, I, to be honest, I love to see a beautiful woman on top of a beautiful motorcycle and compare each and every one of her curves and accept that both are my weak point.
I hope you like the video,
See you soon!!!
