KTM 790 Adventure fuel pump protector . The KTM 790 Adventure is a great motorcycle, but it's not without its minor design flaws. One of them is the fuel outlet elbow. Its location leaves it exposed, and the stock protectors might not be enough to protect it from a moderately hard impact.

The fuel pump guard for the 790 Adventure is designed to protect the fuel pump elbow from bumps that could cave in the side guards. It is made of mechanized polyethylene plastic. This will cause a very strong blow to not start the reservoir pump. Which could mean a much higher cost than just changing the pump or outlet elbow. Very easy to install, it only requires removing 3 of the 5 screws that hold the pump. It is designed so that it does not interfere with the side protectors. This avoids possible accidental blows to the set. The screws are short to avoid leverage on the threaded inserts in the reservoir. Includes screws.

Our opinion

We discovered on various forums and social media that some motorcycles had suffered fuel pump or pump elbow damage due to a hard impact. The worst part of such a crash/breakdown, in certain situations, is that you're completely stranded because there's no way to fix it. Plus, you end up spilling fuel on the ground, causing environmental damage. Of course, this isn't a common problem, and it's not something that happens often.
