The aligner projects a laser beam onto the chain, which, depending on where it's pointed, tells us whether the chain tension is correct or needs to be adjusted. The laser light is visible in a line along the entire chain, allowing for quick and easy visualization. In the case of a timing belt drive, two belt markers (included in the scope of delivery) are attached to the timing belt. The SE-CAT-Line is ingeniously suited for this application, as both belt markers can be illuminated simultaneously, making it clear whether the rear wheel axle is correctly positioned. Application errors are almost impossible. Chain alignment is adjusted in seconds with the help of the precise testing device. The only thing that needs to be checked is whether the light line illuminates the same distance from the chain edge along its entire length.

Our opinion

Simple and effective. The laser chain aligner doesn't have much of a secret to how it works. Just hold it up to the rear sprocket and turn it on. The device will fire a beam of light that should hit all the links at the same point. If it doesn't, you'll need to use the axle tensioners to adjust it. Another useful tool for keeping your chain in perfect condition is the chain tensioner. BPA.
