The aligner projects a laser beam onto the chain, which, depending on where it's pointed, tells us whether the chain tension is correct or needs to be adjusted. The laser light is visible in a line along the entire chain, allowing for quick and easy visualization. In the case of a timing belt drive, two belt markers (included in the scope of delivery) are attached to the timing belt. The SE-CAT-Line is ingeniously suited for this application, as both belt markers can be illuminated simultaneously, making it clear whether the rear wheel axle is correctly positioned. Application errors are almost impossible. Chain alignment is adjusted in seconds with the help of the precise testing device. The only thing that needs to be checked is whether the light line illuminates the same distance from the chain edge along its entire length.

Our opinion

Simple and effective. The laser chain aligner is straightforward: simply place it near the rear sprocket and turn it on. The device will then emit a beam of light that should align perfectly with each link. If it doesn't, you'll need to adjust it using the axle tensioners. Another useful tool for ensuring your chain is in perfect condition is the BPA chain tensioner.
