Our opinion

The Tenere 660 as a whole is a great, very versatile motorcycle both for off-roading and for traveling on the road. But due to its low price, Yamaha technicians have skimped a lot on the quality of some components and, specifically, the suspension. If you add to this that said suspension is calibrated as standard for pilots weighing 75 kg, you will quickly realize that it requires an improvement. And without a doubt, the Misano EVO kit is a great solution. If what you want is to get the most out of it in Off Road use, the Japanese one falls a little short. Its original springs are not enough to adequately read the terrain in off-road use and it becomes somewhat "bouncy." The spring preload is not of much use either since if you loosen it, it will easily stop and if you tighten it it will bounce more. If you want to give this bike true trail use, you definitely need these cartridges. In addition, we offer you the option of extending the travel of your suspension up to 30mm, but this is only recommended if you are going to use it more frequently off road and only if you install the Öhlins +30mm rear shock to compensate for the geometry or a rim. 18″ rear.
