Husqvarna / KTM / Gas Gas oversized water pump. The oversized impeller is a component designed to increase the cooling capacity of the system.

The kit is made of black anodized 6082 aluminum with a special base that lifts the lid, increasing the flow rate (hydrodynamically tested) by 40% of the coolant and improving heat exchange.

All the profiles of the impeller have been designed to avoid unpleasant cavitation phenomena.

This modification makes it possible to reduce the (thermal) stress of the bike during hot periods without compromising anything during cold periods, since the thermostatic valve is able to compensate for the increase in cooling (simply by staying closed).

To increase the flow at the same engine speed, a simple increase in the surface of the impeller vanes is used, obtained thanks to the insertion of a special spacer placed between the engine block and the water pump cover.

This means the radiator fan starts up much less and stays on less, with decidedly lower running temperatures and the benefit of optimal bike cooling.

Our opinion

It is well known that KTM engines in general deliver great power and are practically competition machines. But it is also true that they are engines that work at high temperatures and that can sometimes cause failures. With this oversized kit we increase the water flow without causing cavitation and in this way we are able to maintain the working temperature without having to use the motorbike's electric fan so much.
