Our opinion

 Essential for off-road use. Honda engineers have placed the CDI of the CRF1000 in the lower part of the bike and completely exposed, leaving it really unprotected from any stones that might jump on it. You don't want to know how expensive one of these parts is and how difficult it is to get one in case of breakage when you are on the road through certain places.
