A skid plate is not an element of decoration. The main function of this element is to protect the entire lower part of the engine, crankcases, oil filter and sleeves from possible cracks due to direct stone blows in off-road use. If unfortunately, you broke the oil filter of your motorcycle for not wearing a skid plate and you didn't realize it, the engine repair would cost you much more than the skid plate.

Its greater thickness and size protects the lower part of the engine much more. The Yamaha T7 700 crankcase cover is very easy to install and will avoid costly repairs.
