Field Armor 3™ Knee Pads by Icon . If you're reading this, chances are your knees have already given you some trouble, or perhaps you want to protect them before taking a major hit. Protect your knees on asphalt or dirt with the Field Armor 3™ Knee Pads. The ventilated bio-foam and air-mesh chassis combines with an articulated, injection-molded shell featuring airflow channels, making them so comfortable you'll forget you're wearing them. The low-profile design fits under most pants, while the three elastic adjustment straps keep the pads securely in place. D3O® impact protectors do the heavy lifting. Wear them and keep your knees healthy for another day.

CARE INSTRUCTIONS

General care

ICON® armor is tough and designed to withstand a great deal of asphalt-induced abuse, but no amount of armor can survive every motorcycle accident imaginable. Should the unfortunate happen and you crash into your Icon armor, please thoroughly inspect the product for any signs of structural damage (major abrasion, holes, damaged seams, etc.). If there is any damage or if you are not sure if the damage is structural, you should replace the armor. Most Icon armor uses a coating on the chassis textile that reinforces the overall fabric matrix. Improper cleaning of the armor could compromise the integrity of this coating and lead to material failure. Unnecessary exposure to sunlight and UV rays should be avoided. This is most critical when storing your armor. Always store your armor in a dark, well-ventilated area. Armor is best hung from a wide padded hanger. Do not wrap in plastic or other non-porous materials as this may cause the fabric or plastics to discolor. Finally, avoid exposing your armor (or any part of your riding gear) to gasoline fumes or vapors or any strong chemicals. These vapors weaken the structure of nylon and polyester textiles, reducing their inherent protective capabilities.

Cleaning

Frame (textile areas) – Hand wash frame with warm water and a mild liquid laundry detergent. Hand washing minimizes unnecessary stress on the garment. A soft-bristled toothbrush works well to help remove bug bumps or road debris. Rinse the frame with clean water to remove all the detergent. DO NOT use any type of oxygenated detergent, bleach, fabric softeners, or dry cleaning chemicals. These items will damage the vest!

Drying

Armor: DO NOT use a machine dryer. Subjecting the armor to a drying machine will damage the product and possibly the dryer itself. The only recommended method of drying armor is drip drying. Do not expose the vest to direct sunlight, hair dryers or any type of heater during the drying process. DO NOT use an iron on any part of the garment.

Our opinion

We have been using Icon's Field Armor 2 knee pads for almost 3 years and although luckily, the few falls we have had have not been serious, we can say that they are surprisingly breathable and comfortable knee pads. You barely notice you're wearing them, their design and components make them so light and flexible that they don't bother you at all. It reassures me a lot to know that in the event of a drag, its Kevlar areas will protect my skin and the D30 protections, my kneecaps against impacts. It is important to clarify that these are not exclusively enduro knee pads, but are also used for road use.
